Where did the Mario character come from?

The young and old when playing games may from time to time wonder what it may be like to be that game's central character.

Nintendo and Mario go way back. The truth is, everyone's favorite plumber has a long history of defining whatever console he as well as his "special" mushrooms grace. It all began way back with Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), but held true for Nintendo's subsequent console creations as well -- Super Mario World for Super NES, Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64, Super Mario Sunshine for GameCube and Super Mario Galaxy for Wii. Remember the game consoles of old where Super Mario Bros. had its beginning for the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was soon followed by Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. Mario is super in Nintendo's entire console history and will continue with the Wii U.
